NYC - Day 3

so work is getting much more intense - i love it!!! i'm learning so much about stocks and trading - it's freakin fascinating!!!! and all the analysis is soooo much fun!!! working with the new yorkers is really a blast!!

anyhoo - i went to dinner with an old friend of mine, scott hunt, who lives here in manhattan - we have been out of touch for so so many years and here we are right where we left off - he such a good guy - love you scottie! we went to this south american restuarant that was sooooo good - i had this great shrimp dish and he got this rib eye dish - both were phenomenal and the atmosphere is quite nyc'ish - of course he told me that it can't be my favorite b/c there are so many restuarants here that i won't get to eat at one more than once - AND i told him that i have to lose 10 pounds before i leave here and he said that it won't happen becuase we will be constantly eating out :)

that's my kinda friend - the loves to eat out kind :) plus the conversation is good - he's really fun to be around - and the bottle of wine was good too ;)

so, today's list of priorities:

1) being in nyc makes me want to smoke - not that i'm going to but the environment here is very conducive to it :(

2) the banks here suck!!!! totally different than houston - and won't cash my check!!!! aggravating!

3) if my company offered me a transfer up here i would take it in heartbeat!

4) i have met more friendly new yorkers than not

5) i find that everyone talks about houston and houstonians as if we're some aboriginial group of people running around in loin clothes - i mean really new yorkers - have they looked around to see what they are like here? i heard the word culterless many times - it kinda made me mad and i don't take offense to much...

BONUS: i get maid service twice a week up here - i mean they are getting hooked a new level of lifestyle :)

nite nite....

Day 2 NYC

okay - so here is the priority for the day:

1) 95% of NYC men are esthically pleasing :)
2) locals wear comfy shoes to get to work and have work shoes at work - now, the visiting texan stomps, oh let's see, something like 12 blocks in HEELS!!
3) something about the perimeters of the this city makes people where some of the UGLIEST clothes - even if it's a slightly chunky chick, with a green and blue plaid linen dress that's so tight the squares look like rhumbas
4) why when it's cold do they pump HEAT into the subway so when you are already wearing a coat, you are sweating to death waiting for the train
5) i love it here!!! there's just something about it here - it makes want to take it all in -

**** but i miss my son :( - he stays with my mom during the week in queens :(((

NYC Day 1

so, here i am in nyc - i freaking love it!!!! but day one could be accompanied by murphy's law....

my day starts off great!!! i took taxi to work - i trained all day learning new stuff - i was overwhelmed before i got here but as i learned more and more it all became very understandable - getting ready to leave the office and i decide to go ahead and take the subway - i'm totally familiar with it here and had no worries - UNTIL i got an ASSSSSSSSS of a guy working behind the glass window (just like spence in king of queens) - so the vending machine says no bills, i go up to his CAGE (the animal) began my question of can i just buy a metro card from you since i only have BILLS to pay with - he decided he would start his patronizing response of "doesn't cash consist of change?" i was likw ya -"didn't you say you have cash?" - ya! - well, then you can pay with change at the vending machine -DUH! -freaking einstein - no wonder theey replaced you wth a macine -ya jackass!!!!!! so, my blood began to boil and i said, "so, genius -my point is that i only have BILLS!" in a nasty tone told me to give him my money if i wanted to buy the card...

then, pretty day, iget off the train and stop to get a bite to take home - as i'm ordering it starts poring down rain outside and the lady behind the counter feels bad for me and gives me her umbrella - how sweet is that!!! so her kindness totally negated the subway dude :) i'm hustling home in the rain and as i step off the elevator - the bags busts open and my dinner rolls down the hallway - the pizza was a little skewed but it was yummy!!!!

oh and did i mention that when i got off the train i had no clue how to get home? yea, there's retard eleni asking how to get to my address b/c apparently there are three sections to park avenue and i had no clue which section i was in :) duh?

then after i'm done eating dinner and i'm in my pj's there a knock on the door from a marco - you know the doorman downstairs - i open the door and there are my keys still in the lock on the outside :) that's how it ends...

all in all nyc serves it's role - exciting, fun, fast pace, new experiences....
